When you provide therapy and mental health services to your clients, you use invoices to bill them. A detailed breakdown of your therapy services provided to clients should be included on your invoices.  You can list the type of therapy and number of counselling sessions. A good invoice ensures that both you and your clients are in agreement regarding the therapy services and associated charges.

A therapy invoice should include the following sections and items:

1. Your contact and business information, including website, logo, and other branding
2. Your client’s contact information
3. Unique invoice number
4. Invoice issue date and payment due date
5. Details about the type of therapy and sessions
6. Service quantity (e.g., number of sessions provided)
7. Costs of the therapy services, including session fees and any additional assessments or overtime services
8. Any applicable taxes or fees
9. Any discounts or promotions applied
10. Invoice total that calculates all therapy services rendered, less any discounts
11. How the payment is structured.  This includes instalment plans or payment milestones
12. Accepted payment methods including any bank transfer details and payment terms
13. Add a note to thank your clients for their trust and commitment to their mental health
14. Additional information, such as any confidentiality agreements or consent forms
