Meet Aldo
At Bookipi, we value the diverse backgrounds and experiences of our team members, and today, we’re launching our “Life with Bookipi” program. With this program we showcase Bookipi team members to give prospective team members more insight into what life with Bookipi is like.
Meet Aldo, the Recruitment Manager for Developers. So when you apply to an opening with Bookipi he will be the familiar face you meet! With nine years of experience in recruitment, Aldo specializes in identifying and hiring top-notch software developers. His enthusiasm for his work and appreciation for the global connections he makes every day make him a fantastic member of the Bookipi team. We sat down for a coffee with Aldo and asked him a few questions, and these were his responses.
What do you love about working at Bookipi?
“What I love about working with Bookipi is the diversity—collaborating with people across the Asia Pacific, ANZ, and other parts of the world. It offers the flexibility to work from anywhere, at any time, which I truly value. The leadership team is also exceptional, making the experience even more rewarding.”
Can you describe a 'day in the life' of your role at Bookipi?
“I start my day by making a cup of hot chocolate, opening my emails, and checking if candidates have completed their technical tests. Next, I review my calendar to see how many interviews I need to conduct. Taking a moment to breathe and organize my thoughts, I jot down the tasks I need to accomplish.
I then check Slack for any urgent updates or ad-hoc tasks to add to my to-do list. Once I complete the interviews, I update ClickUp with my notes and shortlisted candidates.
Before the day ends, I make it a point to communicate progress to all candidates, update ClickUp with any pending deliverables, and send updates to the Hiring Managers and the team. This routine helps me stay organized and ensure a smooth recruitment process.”
If you had a super power, what would it be?
“If I had a superpower, it would be the ability to read people’s minds—imagine how much time I could save on interviews!”
