How to request a signature from customers

Learn how to request a signature from your customers on Bookipi Web with these simple steps:

Step 1: Access invoice creation

On your dashboard, select Invoice and tap ‘+ Create’ to start creating an invoice.

Step 2: Enter invoice details

Provide all necessary invoice details, ensuring each required field is accurately completed.

Step 3: Enable ‘Signature’ options

Turn on the ‘Signature’ toggle on the right side of the page.

Enable the ‘Request Customer to Sign’ toggle to allow customers to add their signature to the invoice.

Step 4: Click ‘Continue’

Click ‘Continue’ to create an invoice for your customer.

Step 5: Preview your invoice

A PDF preview of the invoice will appear. Check the details to ensure accuracy, and click ‘Send’.

Step 6: Send the invoice.

Review the email draft and click ‘Send’ to deliver the invoice to your customer.

Once enabled, your customer will receive an email prompting them to sign the invoice, similar to the example shown below:

Step 7: View your signed document

After your customer signs the invoice, go to the relevant ‘Invoice’ page. Click on the invoice, then select the ‘View’ button to access the signed document.

Common FAQs about how to request a signature from customers

Q: Will I be notified when the customer signs the invoice?

A: Yes, you’ll receive an email notification once the customer has signed the invoice. The signature will also be visible when you view the invoice on Bookipi Web.

Q: Can I download or print the signed invoice?

A: Yes, once the invoice is signed, you can download or print it with the signature included.

To do this, open the invoice, click the ‘View’ button to see the signed document, then click the download or print icons to save or print a copy.

Q: The Starter plan includes only up to 2 eSigns. Does that mean I’m limited in requesting signatures on my invoices?

A: No, you’re not limited when requesting signatures on invoices. The limit only applies to documents like contracts or agreements created using the separate eSign tool. You can request signatures on invoices as often as you need by simply enabling the ‘Request Customer to Sign’ option when sending them.
