Bookipi has partnered with the secure payments platform, Stripe. You can accept card payments from customers straight from your invoices in Bookipi on web app and invoice app, and in our proposal maker feature.

  1. Log in to your Bookipi account.
  2. Turn on the toggle for ‘accept card payments’ in Customer Payment Option
  3. Connect your Stripe account. If you don’t have a Stripe account, start the Stripe signup process. Stripe may request additional information to verify your identity and business. You must complete this process to successfully open a Stripe account.

Sign up to try Bookipi web for free! Enabling card payments is included in Bookipi software. However, you are charged merchant fees when there’s a successful credit card transaction.

Stripe merchant fees vary depending on your country and the types of credit cards that your customers use.

Log in to your Stripe account with the email and password you used to set up your account. If you have misplaced your email or password for your Stripe account, contact Stripe support. Stripe support can assist you in accessing your account.

Currently, card payments are available in the 47 countries connected with Stripe.

If you have set up Stripe, your first payout can take up to 7 days to reach your account. This once-off delay in the first payment’s settlement is for security reasons. This helps our partner, Stripe mitigate their risk of providing credit services to merchants.

After the first transaction, payouts will usually take about 3 business days and can be monitored through your Stripe dashboard. The payout schedules vary depending on your industry and the country you are operating in.

There are minimum and maximum charge amounts on Stripe depending on the chosen currency for a transaction.

Refunds can take up to 10 business days depending on the business bank account.

Your customers can show that they want to pay via credit card with our ‘accept card payments’ feature. However, your customers’ cards are not actually charged until you have successfully signed up with Stripe.

You may receive an email notifying you that your customer has tried to pay you via credit card. If you’d like to receive credit card payments, please click on the button to login or sign up with Stripe. You can also enable card payments directly in Bookipi Invoice web app or mobile app settings.

Please note that transactions through Stripe incur a per-transaction fee. Payouts are also subject to a waiting period for security purposes.

You can easily disable ‘accepting card payments’ by turning off the toggle in web app and mobile app.

If you have enabled card payments, your invoice is marked as ‘incomplete’ in Stripe when your customer opens an invoice but has not entered credit card details to pay you. To fix this, your customer can reopen an invoice and enter their credit card details so that the payment is processed by Stripe.

If your Stripe account is still showing ‘incomplete’ payment after your customer has entered their card details and has been issued a receipt, please reach out to our support team at support@bookipi.com.

Stripe has been audited by a PCI-certified auditor. Stripe is certified to PCI Service Provider Level 1 which is the most stringent level of certification in the payments industry.

Bookipi is also ISO27001 certified by approved information security auditors, Compass Assurance.

You can’t accept card payments from customers if you have manually marked an invoice as ‘paid’. To fix this, please remove the manually marked payment from the invoice.

Then, reach out to our support team at support@bookipi.com. We can refresh the invoice so that your customer can pay you via credit card.
